I think Kaleb is one of those characters that has a root in my own personality — he has a lot of anger and stress problems.
He is also a robin, but that’s another thing entirely.

omg! i love to learn about prosthetic limbs specifically i think it’s really cool to see how they’ve changed over time (in appearance and other things..) cybernetic ear trumpet might be a hearing aid maybe
I KNOW AAHHH i especially like… limbs made for a really specific purpose (like those really elegant simple athletic running feet) or like… I remember seeing Aimee Mullins giving a talk about some of her prosthetic legs that are specifically art pieces? like carved wooden vine legs, jellyfish legs, legs with fish in them i think?? like the expressive side too. And like things for animals too??
Oh god I just remembered this great doco I saw called the History of Surgery (I think it’s online? LOOK IT UP IT’S REALLY GOOD) and there’s a statue in Italy somewhere of this poineer in realistic prosthetic noses, and the statue is oh him holding a prosthetic nose aloft… good statue

ive never seen this before! i always thought they were just. .. you know.. the woogly looking cones.. well what a helpful tag lmao!!
I know, right? I mean that whole blog is full of great stuff but that post really opened my eyes to the wide world of ear trumpets.
(side note I’m just generally interested in like… augmentation I guess you could call it? from ear trumpets to prosthetic limbs to implants to whatever, it’s all SUPER FASCINATING (but ear trumpets are by far the coolest augmentation, that’s what Jenson was missing in that new Deus Ex game, cybernetic ear trumpets. I would 100% have bought the game if that was the case)

its sad because its a fairly good summary of this blog
Internal Anatomy of the Grass Frog [Genus Litoria]
As different as frogs are from you and I, you can clearly see how similar vertebrates are to each other when you dissect one. One heart, two lungs, a stomach, liver, spleen, gall bladder, intestines, kidneys, bladder, and gonads are visible in this particular dissection, as well as the extraordinarily strong leg muscles.
